How long does the landlord have to fix my rented commercial property?
Author: admin // Category: Commercial Propertyon dec. 12 of 2006 an auto accident damaged the outside of the commercial property that i rent. a portion of the building was damaged that supports my picture window. as of now, it hasn’t been repaired. how long does he have to fix this? my window is boarded up and it’s been an eyesore. he seems to be slow dragging to me. what are my options?

Each state mandates the time allowed. Look for your Residential Landlord & Tenant Act (should be available online). This should give you the details of how long they have and what financial recourse you can get if they dont fix it.

Your lease, the buildings insurance, the auto insurance, there are lots of things that come into play. Is there a problem with you moving? You may have to bring your lease into a lawyer to find out if you can move out. Take pictures of the damage if you break your lease.
