We are just beginning the home buying process. We have no home to sell (first time buyers) and were thinking of getting a real estate agent. However, I know we would have to sign one of those exclusivity contracts and, if we buy a foreclosed upon home, their comission would have to come from somewhere (us?).

If we are even considering buying a foreclosure, should we sign up with a real estate agent?

I have a retail commercial property. It has 3 store fronts and all three are rented out. I was wondering if I can make extra payments from my personal income toward the property’s mortgage and use the interest paid toward lowering my taxable income on my personal income?

A lien was recently [July, 2007] placed by the IRS against a piece of Real Estate in New York that is owned by an Estate that I am the Executor of.

How long do I have from the time the lien was placed by the IRS to the time that the IRS forces the property for sale or auction? If the property is forced for sale or auction by the IRS is there some type of redemption period that I have?

The Estate does not want me to sell the Real Estate.
The estate will be able to pay the IRS what it owes within three months. Do I have that much time before the property is placed to auction or sale?

ive been subbing out floor work from a local company now for a little over two years, and recently decided to go into business for myself, Ive always just been handed work orders with my pay listed on it, I was just givin the opportunity to bid on an applebees new construction and many more commercial projects, and honestly have no idea how to place a good bid on them, If somebody could please help me out with pricing list for, ceramic, hardwood, glue down carpet, laminate,etc..im good at what i do but i want to make sure i get the contract, what wouldbe the best pricing to give and stilll not cut my own throat? thank you so much for any help…

Property management company has changed multiple times since I signed my lease. All of them are horrible, as is the building owner, and won’t fix anything! What recourse do they have if I just move out?

My real estate agent works with the construction company that built our home. We are doing a rent to own deal. We have learned that our real estate agent is very undependable. She hardly answers her phone and if we leave a message she doesn’t respond back. Is there a way we could change realtors?

A couple of years ago I invested 50k into a bad real estate investment. The person heading up this llc actually committed fraud and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. I am looking to write off this investment for the year 2008 and have had conflicting reports on what I can write off. Does anyone know what you can write off on a bad real estate investment?
